One PI’s Continuing Involvement in 13-Year Old Cold Case

Twenty-eight year old Jennifer Harris disappeared from Bonham, Texas on Mother’s Day 2002. After an extensive search, a fisherman found her mutilated body in the Red River in Oklahoma. An autopsy conducted by the Oklahoma City Medical Examiner’s Office revealed that all of her female organs had been forcibly removed.

Jennifer’s father said that she thought she was pregnant, and private investigator Jim Holloway considers that a motive. He suspects the person who got her pregnant might have been the one to murder her to hide that he was the father. In fact, Texas Rangers initially named James Hamilton—Jennifer’s ex-boyfriend—as the prime suspect.

However, the investigation stalled two years later when all of the evidence went missing after it was transferred from officials in Oklahoma to those in Texas.

Jim Holloway volunteered to help with the investigation in 2009, and he believes that the case can still be solved, claiming that there is evidence that investigators never looked at. Holloway said that it was two years before a Texas Ranger from the cold crime unit came up to investigate the murder.
